Peter Tuttle is first candidate to qualify for August ballot

Peter Tuttle is the first candidate to qualify for the ballot in the upcoming August 2015 election for Metro rsz_headshot_2011-06_img_2126Council in District 4.  Tuttle’s qualifying petition was verified by the Election Commission on Monday, March 16.

Peter Tuttle is a long-time Nashville resident, moving from Franklin to Nashville in 1988.

Peter and his wife met at an MTSU football tailgate alumni lunch and now live in Bradford Hills, between Nolensville Road and Edmondson Pike.  Their two adult children also live, work, and play in Nashville!

He has been active in community and local business and professional organizations over the past 29 years in Nashville.  He is a graduate of the Metro Police Citizens Police Academy, is a current participant in the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood’s Leadership Training.  He attends and participates in local public meetings regarding infrastructure and zoning, including the Nolensville Rd expansion project, the joint Metro/City of Brentwood study of the Old Hickory Blvd and Maryland Way/Church St / Cloverland corridor, Flood Mitigation meetings, and the Holt Rd apartment zoning meetings in 2012. He  served for many years on the TN/CPA-IRS Tax Liaison committee and the TN/CPA-State Dept of Revenue Liaison committee.  Tuttle was a 12-year board member of the Nashville Ski Club and served 3 terms as President.  He was active with the  Blind Skier Program which funds activities for local school students.

Tuttle will also use his knowledge of neighborhood issues gleaned from serving on the board of the Bradford Hills HOA.  He is currently serving as President of the 547 member Bradford Hills HOA.  He is an original Titans PSL owner and is a Day-One Predators Season Ticket holder.

Prior to moving to Middle Tennessee he was involved as a volunteer as a United Way Loaned Executive, a volunteer firefighter,  member of the underwater recovery team, and served as an alumni volunteer to both his college fraternity and to other chapters in the same district.  Peter earned the Eagle Scout rank as a member of the Boy Scouts.

Peter is an Independent Insurance agent and has a sole-proprietorship CPA business limited to tax which has been his profession for the past 20+ years.  Prior to that, he was a Business Manager for a Fortune 500 company in multiple cities.  That position brought him to work in Nashville in February 1986.  Nashville’s hospitality and the people often reminded him of his maternal grandmother who grew up in a small town outside of Newnan, Georgia.

District 4 is in southern Davidson County.  Starting at the county line at I-65 in Brentwood, the district runs southeast along the Williamson/Davidson line to Nolensville Rd, then north on Nolensville Rd to Old Hickory Blvd.  Turn west and follow OHB until Nipper’s Corner and turn north on Edmondson Pike for approximately one-half mile where it turns west and north again for one-quarter mile along Seven-Mile Creek.  It then runs roughly west towards Hill Rd to I-65 and then south to the county line at Brentwood.
